Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi
Depart Kampala early and drive southwest through the lush countryside. The journey takes approximately 7-8 hours with stops for lunch and photos. Arrive at Bwindi in the late afternoon and check into your lodge near the park boundary.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Day
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for briefing. The actual trek can take 1–6 hours depending on where the gorillas are. Once you find them, you’ll spend one magical hour observing the family. The experience of watching a silverback, mothers with babies, and playful juveniles is absolutely unforgettable.
Day 3: Community Walk & Batwa Experience
Today you can take a guided nature walk through the forest or visit the Batwa pygmy community for a cultural experience. Learn about their ancient forest-dwelling traditions, music, and dance. Alternatively, explore nearby Lake Bunyonyi — one of Africa’s deepest lakes.
Day 4: Return to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast with views of the forest before driving back to Kampala. Stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and a visit to the Uganda Museum. Arrive in Kampala by evening.
