Venture off the beaten path to Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda’s most remote and pristine wilderness. Tucked away in the far northeast corner, Kidepo offers dramatic landscapes, abundant wildlife, and an authentic safari experience far from the crowds.
Day 1: Kampala to Kidepo
Early departure from Kampala for the long but scenic drive to Kidepo Valley. Fly via scheduled charter from Entebbe if preferred. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon with views over the Narus Valley.
Day 2-3: Game Drives in Kidepo
Full-day game drives in Kidepo’s Narus and Kidepo Valleys. Kidepo is home to species not found elsewhere in Uganda, including cheetahs, bat-eared foxes, and ostriches. Also spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, and over 475 bird species. Visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs.
Day 4: Karamojong Cultural Visit
Visit a traditional Karamojong manyatta to learn about the semi-nomadic pastoralist culture. The Karamojong are known for their distinctive dress and cattle-keeping traditions. Afternoon game drive.
Day 5: Return to Kampala
Morning game drive, then depart for Kampala (or fly from Kidepo airstrip). The drive takes a full day with lunch stops en route.
